Laissez les Bon Temps Rouler!

Hey CoochieCrunchers! Put down the pancakes, it’s Mardi Gras!

Vic and Nat’ly go to the Mardi Gras (c) Bunny Matthews

The only holiday that ties my Love of Halloween. I wanted to share with you a few of my favourite Mardi Gras tracks so you can pour you a cocktail and hold your own little second-line in your living room. Laissez les bon temps rouler!

Carnival Time by Al Johnson The Ultimate Carnival track. Never gets old. Never gets tired.

Big Chief by Professor Longhair You’ve probably heard this track sampled a lot. This is the original and the best.

Hey Hey (Indians Comin’) by The Wild Tchoupitoulas  Mardi Gras Indians are one of the greatest spectacles of all of Carnival.

Iko Iko by the Dixie Cups A spontaneous song that’s become a timeless Mardi Gras track. The percussion you can hear is one of the Dixie Cups tapping an ashtray with a drumstick.
